It’s that time of year, again, when our attention is drawn to summer activities. For many of us, that still means hitting the trails, but this time on bikes in lieu of skis.
And there are few places better than Big White Resort for getting in some great riding. They’ve been working hard to improve our trail system and add new features, so we’re excited to share with you some of the changes coming this summer.
Here’s what to expect this biking season:
Starting June 1st, Season Passes will be available for purchase online or in-store at the Big White Ski & Summer Resort Ticket Office. If you want to enjoy the mountain all summer long, a season pass is a great option. You’ll get unlimited access to our mountain for only $279 (plus tax). That’s 62% off regular ticket prices.
The Big White Bike Shop is open every day during the biking season: daily, from 9 am-4 pm every day. The shop offers a full range of bike accessories and clothing, as well as repair services – including tune-ups and flat tire repairs.
Big White is excited to announce that summer bike riders will be able to hit the trails on Thursday, June 30. The Bike Park will be open daily from 9 am to 5 pm with shuttles running every 15 minutes.
The park is open to anyone who wants to ride their bike on a trail that has been constructed by volunteers with their own hands and tools. For those who want an extra challenge, they offer guided tours on some of their more advanced trails. With 18 trails ranging from beginner to advanced, there is something for every skill level. Big White’s goal is to offer a fun experience for everyone who comes out for a ride, whether you’re an expert rider or just learning how to ride off-road for the first time.
Big White Bike Park is offering a variety of events and activities this summer. Whether you’re looking to stay fit, shred some trails or just enjoy the outdoors with your family, they have you covered.
As such, they want to make sure you don’t miss anything, so they’ve created this list of upcoming biking events at Big White:
The Okanagan Graveller is a mountain bike race series that takes place in beautiful British Columbia. The event features a mix of trail riding and downhill racing. This year’s event will feature a mass start downhill race as well as enduro racing on Saturday and Sunday.
This year’s course features some of the most challenging terrain available in Canada, including one of the longest descents in North America.
The events will take place on Friday nights and will include races, freeride sessions, and family activities. The event series is open to all riders of all ages and abilities; it is designed to be an enjoyable and safe experience for everyone involved.
Each week features a different theme with a different challenge for riders of all ages and skill levels.
Friday Freeride Sessions are back again this year and will be held on Friday nights from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The first one will be hosted by Brayden Barrett-Hay, a professional mountain biker who currently competes in the Enduro World Series and XCO World Cup races.
During his session, Brayden will teach you how to ride more efficiently, how to corner better, and how to move faster around the trails. You can expect a fun night of riding with other like-minded people who love their bikes as much as you do.
Whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or more advanced biker, the staff at Big White Bike company guarantees you will have an awesome, memorable time on the slopes in their variety of summer biking events.
So, why not celebrate summer on a bike in the company of friends, family, and other people who are also looking for an adventurous time.
