Spring & Summer in Kelowna

Winter may be melting away but Spring is here and with it brings exciting new reasons to visit Kelowna, Canada! There are many fun outdoor activities one can still do and enjoy up here. With the snow slowly dissipating, it’s now a perfect getaway where you can hike, golf, tour beautiful vineyards and taste some of the best wine Canada has to offer.. And while you’re here, you will definitely want to take in the beautiful orchards that are blooming in full vibrant colors this time of the year.

If you are a hiker or simply like to take long adventurous walks, you will want to explore a few serene locations – in Kelowna, there is Rose Valley or Kalamoir Park. Nearby is also Pincushion in Peachland and Stephens Coyote Ridge in Glenmore. All four of these trails offer incredible, breathtaking views, trees for shade and are a wonderful way to spend the day and enjoy the great outdoors. You can also take a hike at Knox Mountain’s Apex Trail and enjoy panoramic views of downtown Kelowna, West Kelowna, and Okanagan Lake.

If you would like to take a different kind of walk, Spring is an opportune time to take advantage of the Kelowna greens and play a round of golf. A couple of courses to consider – Black Mountain Golf Club, a beautiful 18-hole golf course that is perfectly embedded into the Okanagan landscape with a unique island green. And whether you’re golfing expertise is beginner or professional, the Tower Ranch Golf Club can offer you and your family members a memorable experience.

What better way to end the perfect day in Kelowna but to visit and tour one of the many splendid vineyards while tasting some fine wines? In fact, did you know that Kelowna is the home of BC wine? With over 40 wineries in the surrounding areas, be sure to book some time to tour one or two of them, and grab a few bottles to take home with you. Spring is the best time to tour and get a hold of the best new wines before they sell out.

And before you go home, be sure to walk through the many orchards in Kelowna while they’re in full bloom. A variety of trees are bursting with so much color and floral fragrance this time of year! So come see and smell for yourself all of the blossoming apple, cherry, peach, pear, and plum trees, while they’re at their peak season! And if you and your family need a perfect place to stay, check out our Crescendo in Big White (located just outside of Kelowna). There is plenty of room for the whole family to be comfortable and relaxed.

Before you know it, summer will be around the corner and that brings with it Bike Big White season. That means 19 amazing trails that range from rolling greens to big air blacks, a trail for every type of mountain rider. You can start logging air miles on the premier jump trail starting July 1st
