Melissa (September 2018) – BC, Canada
In September 2017, my husband and I were married at Crescendo. From the moment we began our planning with the owner, we felt supported and encouraged.
Mitch has a helpful, flexible, and accommodating staff that takes care of the venue during the bike and ski season. As soon as we stepped foot inside Crescendo, we knew it would be the perfect place to stay during our wedding weekend and to hold our 120-person ceremony and reception. The indoor space gave a unique house party feel to our wedding and, due to the magnificent architecture of the chalet, décor was kept to a minimum with floral arrangements, greenery, and “enchanted forest” details.
Guests were able to hang out
– in the theatre room (where we positioned the main bar),
– in the great room (where staff removed all furniture and we made a dance floor with a DJ set-up),
– around the beautiful dessert table (dining room), and
– outside on the covered patio (where we had a band, a cocktail hour bar, and patio seating.
I was able to get ready in the master bedroom, which provided a perfect dressing room for the makeup artist, hairstylist, and bridal party to spend the afternoon.
The catering company (Details Catering) was familiar with the venue and took advantage of the modern kitchen area to create and serve canapés throughout the venue (we chose not to have a sit-down dinner).
The outdoor space at Crescendo provided a scenic and ethereal venue for the wedding ceremony. We were able to set out over 100 rented chairs, and the event company we hired (Blushing Pear Event Planning & Rentals) created an elegant aisle and arched area for the ceremony to take place.
At the end of the weekend, we didn ’t want to leave the luxury of this chalet at Big White. Our guests were blown away by the magic of our wedding weekend at Crescendo.
If you are interested in getting married at BigWhite Ski Resort, Crescendo is the place to do it!
